100 YARD FOOD DRIVE CHALLENGE
C
Howell High School is taking on the 2026 100 Yard Food Drive Challenge!
Let’s go, students! Can we fill an entire football field with food?
Every bag delivered to Howell High School will count toward the challenge.
Choose Howell High School as your drop-off location if you’d like to be part of the challenge.
Not near Howell? No worries! Simply choose the drop-off location nearest you and you’ll still be making a difference in your community..
Together, we will fill the shelves
of food banks across New Jersey.
How It Works
We provide high school students a streamlined platform with the supplies and support needed to run their own successful food drive.
Neighborhood Captain’s Role
Step 1:
Each Neighborhood Captain is provided Dermer Dreams donation bags and promotional materials.
Step 2:
Step 3:
Upon delivery of the food to our drop site, on collection day, the student earns 10 hours of Community Service.
IT’S SIMPLE. WE PROVIDE YOU EVERYTHING AT NO COST TO YOU!
It is the Neighborhood Captain’s job to manage the program from start to finish.
Create Your Plan Of Action!
Consider the following ideas or design your own to fill as many bags as possible.
- Raise money through a Venmo campaign. Request $10 per person and go shopping to fill some of your bags.
- Text friends & family who live nearby to request that they fill bags.
- Distribute bags to people you know in your community.
- Hand out bags in front of a supermarket and ask people to fill the bag as they are shopping.
- Request that employees in your parents’ workplace fill bags.
- Request that members of a team fill bags.
- Distribute bags and letters to homes in your neighborhood and pick up the bags after 9am on pick up day.
- Use social media to create awareness about your food drive.
- Put a personal note inside the bag explaining why you want to help people who are hungry.
- Offer personal pick-up times when someone can text you to pick up their bag.
Be Creative and Design the best plan of action for you!
